Obituary of Lorene-T. James


Lorene T. James Cedar Lake Lorene T. James, age 49, of Cedar Lake, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2006. She was a very devoted mother and there was nothing more important to her than her family and their activities. She is survived by her husband, Thomas; children: Sarah of Indianapolis, Thomas, Kristin, Alexis, Zachary and Joshua all at home; mother, Marlene (Jim) Townsend-Giannini of Crown Point and parents-in-law, Thomas and Lorraine James of Dyer; siblings: Janel (Dan) Creviston of Merrillville, Mary (Don) Sievert of Schererville, Nancy Townsend of Schererville, John (Cathie) Townsend of Crown Point, Renee (Steve) Egan of Crown Point, Joe (Amy) Townsend of Schererville, Amy (Fred) Solomon of Indianapolis, Pat (Kate) Townsend of North Riverside, IL and Beth (Rob) Cerrado of Chicago, IL; brothers-in-law: Andy (Sue) James of Crown Point and Rick James of Dyer; sisters-in-law: Cheryl Robinson of Milton, MA, Joni (Dwayne) Moehl of Crown Point and Pam James and Mary Beth James both of Indianapolis; 46 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her father, Deacon John Townsend. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 9:45 a.m. at the Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 8580 Wicker Ave. (Rt. 41), St. John, IN with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Church, Schererville with Rev. Sammie Maletta and Rev. Edward Kennedy co-officiating. Burial at St. Michael Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00-9:00 p.m. Mrs. James was a teacher of freshman algebra at Andrean High School and was a former teacher at St. John the Evangelist School, Peifer Elementary, Lowell High School and Montessori. She was a 1975 graduate of Lake Central High School and Edgecliffe College in Cincinnati, OH 1979. She was devoted to her faith and was a Lector and Eucharistic minister and Parish Council member at Holy Name Church in Cedar Lake and was on the school advisory board of St. John the Evangelist. She assisted in the Spell Bowl and Math Bowl at Andrean High School and was very active with Geneology, Lake County 4-H and the Hanover Hay Makers. Her kindness and generosity will not be forgotten. She would have wished for everyone to remember her children in their prayers. Memorials for her children's education would be appreciated.
