Obituary of Lawrence Miller

Miller, Lawrence G.State Representative Lawrence G. Miller, age 78, passed away on May 31st at St. Vincent's Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Mildred Peters Miller for 54 years.Larry was born in Bridgeport on April 19, 1936. He was a graduate of Warren Harding High School and University or Bridgeport.Larry is survived by his daughters, Leslie Miller and Andrea Bushko, and his son, John Miller and his wife, Jennifer. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Victoria and Alex Bushko, and Samantha and Katherine Miller. Larry is also survived by his sister Helen Chagares, her husband Gus. He was predeceased by his parents Stephen and Elizabeth (Nebesnik) Miller.Prior to being elected to his Representative position, Larry served on the Stratford Town Council from 1977 to 1985. He also was a member of the Stratford Planning and Zoning Commission from 1985-1989, and served as chair of the Zoning Commission from 1989 -1993. Larry Miller was the Connecticut State Representative for District 122, which is compromised of areas of Stratford, Shelton and Trumbull. He was passionate about serving his constituents and held this position beginning in 1991, until he passed.Larry was a strong believer in stem cell research and was very involved in trying to get the State of Connecticut to fund research. He credited adult stem cell research with vastly prolonging his life from multiple myeloma.Services and interment will be private.
