Laurie Ellen Quinlanof Lowell; 54 LOWELL -- Laurie Ellen Quinlan, 54, of Lowell, died Friday morning, January 6th at Lowell General Hospital following a sudden illness.Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, September 30, 1957, the daughter of the late Francis Xavier Quinlan, Sr. and the late Vera A. (Cadigan) Quinlan, she attended Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School. She then went on to earn her certification as a Nurse's Assistant (CNA) through the American Red Cross at the Willow Manor Nursing Home in Lowell.She was employed as a CNA at the Willow Manor for over 16 years. Previously, she worked at Bay State Rehabilitation Hospital in Billerica. Most recently, she did private duty as a Hospice CNA. She was renowned for her competent and compassionate care to all her patients.Among her many enjoyments, Laurie had a deep appreciation for music and was an avid lover of the arts, particularly movies and early television classics. She loved to travel, with her most memorable trip being to Ireland in 1987 with her mother. She had a remarkable memory of Quinlan family history and was affectionately known as the "family archivist". However, her most fervent passion was her role as a doting aunt to her nieces and nephews.Laurie is survived by five sisters Mary Margaret Ahearn of Chelmsford, MA, Vera A. Gallagher and her husband Arthur, Rosemary B. Brewster and her husband Bruce, and Katherine W. Breen, all of Lowell, MA and Kerry A. Deveau and her husband Jeffrey of South Lawrence, MA; three brothers Francis X. Quinlan, Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Lowell, MA, Michael H.W. Quinlan and his wife Deborah of Bedford, NH and Patrick T. Quinlan of Lowell, MA; She is also survived by seventeen nieces and nephews which includes her beloved godchild Erin Quinlan Mello of Milford, NH and numerous cousins.QUINLAN -- In Lowell, January, 6, 2012, at Lowell General, Laurie E. Quinlan, 54, of Lowell. In keeping in accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday morning at ST. MARGARET CHURCH in Lowell at 9:30 o'clock.
