<!-- FH = 95 --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Jordan, Katherine Elizabeth,passed away Sunday October 26, 2014, at the age of 95. She was born August 26, 1919 in Lonoke, AR. Though she started life early and fragile, born during the 7th month of pregnancy and weighing only 2 &#189; lbs (sleeping in her daddy's shoebox), she held onto life and all it's fullness and left as one of the strongest women known to her family and friends.She was born to a sharecropper and housewife. She started picking cotton in the fields with her parents at the age of six. She enjoyed retelling her memories of riding on a donkey with her brother to school, carrying the lard bucket her mom packed with their lunch. She always loved sports and played on the girls basketball team. She later worked for Ford-Bacon-Davis making ammunition and bombs for World War II. She also enjoyed team bowling and was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan; calling out "Woo Pig Sooie" during games. Katherine was passionate about fishing and she boasted about catching a sailfish once, while deep sea fishing with her daughter Frances and her son-in-law, Bob.She belonged to La Sertoma Club and was president for some years. In 1976 she was awarded the Flo Hall Sweetheart of the year award, which was quite an honor to her.She was always grateful and appreciative for her life and expressed her blessings to be around all of her family and friends. In most recent years, she enjoyed countless hours playing cards, Wii bowling and watching old westerns with her companion and dear friend, Wanda McGinnis.She is preceded in death by her husband Woody Jordan and daughter Patsy Winstead (Alvin), as well as her three brothers, Bill, J.D., and Clifford Williams.Katherine (known as Nanny to many), is survived by her daughter, Frances Shaw (Bob); five grandchildren, Robbie Shaw (Peggy), Stephen and Ronald (Pamela) Clayton, Sharon (Bob) Dyer and Michelle Shaw (Brian); four great-grandchildren, April Wall, Kim Kirkland, Cameron and Mikayela Dyer; and three great-great-grandchildren, Caleb, Kaylin and Kelsea.Visitation will be held on Saturday November 1, 2014 at Bosse Funeral Home at 5 pm with a celebration of life service immediately following at 7 p.m. Her final resting place will be at Kings Cemetery in Cabot, AR.Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison Avenue at Barret Avenue.
