WHEELER Katherine E. (McIntyre) Wheeler, age 92, of Naugatuck, widow of Robert S. Wheeler, formerly of Shelton and Milford, died on Monday, June 9, 2003, at Beacon Brook Health Center, after a brief illness. Mrs. Wheeler was born on March 31, 1911, in Waterbury, daughter of the late Herbert and Katherine (Barrett) McIntyre. She was a retired employee of Chromium Process Co. in Shelton. After her retirement, she loved to sell fruits and vegetables to her friends at a farm stand on Grassy Hill Road in Orange. She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Murtha of Naugatuck; three brothers, John McIntyre of North Carolina, Herbert McIntyre of New Haven, and George McIntyre of Ansonia; two sisters, Evelyn McClellan of Shelton, and Hazel McIntyre of Old Saybrook. She also leaves three grandsons, Thomas Murtha Jr. and his wife, Laurie, of Naugatuck, Robert Murtha of New Hampshire, and John Murtha and his wife, Sandy, of New Hampshire; two granddaughters, Catherine Bursey and her husband, Blake, and Christy Fuller and her husband, Harry, all of Naugatuck; and great-grandchildren, Kiersten Murtha and Patrick and Sarah Bursey. She was preceded in death by brothers, Andrew and Grover McIntyre; and sisters, Mary Almandinger, Martha Santos and Amy Smith. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2003, at 9 a.m. from Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck, to St. Mary"s Church for a Mass at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be at Mount St. Peter"s Cemetery, Derby.
