Obituary of June-Ellen-Rice Bacon

<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Sept. 17, 1936 - Jan. 27, 2015 June Ellen Rice Bacon passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015. She was 79 years old. She was born in Huntsville, Alabama and was the first child born to Jack and Lucy Rice. She graduated from Council High School before moving to Chicago where she attended Roosevelt University and graduated with honors and received the following degrees: BS, MA and M.Ph. While in Chicago she married Billy Newby and they had two sons, Terrell and Titus. Also, while in Chicago, she was a member of the Independence Boulevard SDA Church. Years later June returned to Huntsville and was employed by A&M University and later transferred to Redstone Arsenal, from which she retired. June is survived by her son, Terrell Newby; grandsons, Terrell Newby, Jr., and Aaron Newby; brothers and sisters, Carolyn Battle, Horace Rice, Milton Rice and Rosa Walker. A celebration of life service will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2015, at the Royal Chapel of Memories with Elder T. Marshall Kelly officiating.
