Obituary of Jr-Robert-Campbell Kirkwood

ROBERT CAMPBELL KIRKWOOD, Jr. Robert Campbell Kirkwood, Jr. of Hollywood, FL passed away at home Saturday evening November 9 , 2002. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed by everyone. Born in Mitchell, South Dakota on March 16th, 1933 to the predeceased Robert Campbell Kirkwood, Sr. and Virginia Bates Kirkwood. Robert spent many years as a mortgage banker. Robert served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After serving in the military, Robert graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in finance. He attended high school at the Breck Military Academy in St. Paul, MN. Robert was also a member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons. Robert was an ordained Deacon of Aaronic Priesthood for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed and spent many years as a football and baseball coach. Robert Campbell Kirkwood, beloved brother and father, is survived by his sister, Mary Van Loan of Cape Cod; his daughter, Kimberly Lyn Kirkwood of Hickory Creek, TX; his son, Robert Campbell Kirkwood, Ill and daughter-in-law, Peggy Strathdee-Kirkwood, of Jupiter, FL. He was the proud grandfather of three grandsons: Robert Campbell Kirkwood, IV, Cameron Marr Kirkwood, and Kyle MacLean Kirkwood. He is also survived by one niece, two nephews, two great nephews, and many dear friends. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM Saturday, November 16, 2002 at First Presbyterian Church of North Palm Beach, 717 Prosperity Farms Rd., North Palm Beach; 561-622-8818. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial donation in Robert's memory to the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation.
