Obituary of John-W. Kirkwood

KIRKWOOD, JOHN W., 78, passed away at Baptist East Hospital on October 13, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was a retired detective for the city of Louisville with over twenty years of service. He served during the Korean War as an Army Sergeant. He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven plus years, Ruby I. Kirkwood; his two daughters, Ruby E. Drury and Susan J. Kirkwood; four grandchildren, Nicholas F. Drury, Dana E. Drury, Allison I. Dziedzic, Katherine A. (William) Edwards. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Jacob, Nicholas, Landon, Elijah; two sisters, Jean and Jane and a sister-in-law, Aileen; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY, 40243, 502-245-0095.
