Obituary of John Edmond

EDMOND, John "Jack" DobsonMarch 17, 1937 - September 24, 2013Jack passed away quietly on Tuesday after a short battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Marianne van Maarschalkerweerd and brother of Harriet and David (Kathryn) Edmond. He is predeceased by his wife Lenore (Haddleton). He is survived by his children Margaret (Myles), Jack, Frances (Todd) and Alison, their mother Edna and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his nieces Melody and Belinda Kasak and their mother Lorraine Haddleton. He will be fondly remembered by Marianne's mother, her sisters and their families in the Netherlands. Jack came to Canada from Scotland when he was 21 years and he has called Canada home ever since. He worked for Loeb in Ottawa for most of his career. Golf was in his genes and he was always happy on a golf course. He was a long time member of the Dome and till his death he was an active member of the Carleton Golf and Yacht Club. Jack donated his body to science. A 'Celebration of his life' will be held on Sunday, October 6th, 2013 from 1 to 4 pm in the Anniversary Room at the Carleton Golf and Yacht Club, 6627 Marina Drive, Manotick, with tributes at 2 pm. Donations to a charity of your choice in Jack's memory will be appreciated.
