ALBANY Joan E. Weasack Jensen, 59, of Albany, N.Y. and Winter Garden, Fla., died surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at the Hospice Inn of St. Peter's Hospital in Albany following a short illness. Born in Troy, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late William and Anna May Stokes Weasack. Joan was a graduate of the Cohoes Catholic Schools and Hudson Valley Community College. She began her career as a dental assistant for Dr. Harvey Gold and then Dr. Abraham Finkel and was employed by them for approximately 17 years. She also was employed at her husband's parents' restaurants, Jensen Inns. Later, Joan changed careers and worked at the Desmond in Colonie for 20 years, where she was head captain of the waiters and waitresses until her illness. Joan oversaw the functions with perfection and love. She was a member of the H.E.R.E. Union, Local 471 for 21 years. She was dearly cherished by all who worked with her, was especially known for her loving hugs and winning smile and was always there to help someone else. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A communicant of St. Francis DeSales Church in Loudonville where she served as a Eucharistic minister, she continued the tradition of going to the shrines in Canada with her husband, sisters and family members, as her parents did for over 50 years. She was a loving wife to her husband of 35 years, Peter C. Jensen and is further survived by her loving sisters, Patricia Geleta and Theresa Conrad; brothers-in-law, Walter Geleta and Charles Conrad; nieces, Susan Traver (Michael) and Kimberly Conrad; nephews, David Geleta and Chad Conrad; great-nieces, Marissa and Sarah Traver; two aunts, Sophie Warzala and Ruth Weasack; and several cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 9:00 in St. Francis DeSales Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville. Entombment will follow in the American Saints Mausoleum at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Parker Brothers Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY, 12211 in memory of Joan E.
