Obituary of Jessie-M. Harding

Harding, Jessie M. HALFMOON Jessie M. Harding of Halfmoon, 93, died June 14, 2007 at Northwood's Nursing Home in Troy after a brief illness. Daughter of the late Robert and Jessie Currie McWhirter, Harding was born July 3, 1913 in Bedford, Ind.She moved with her grand-parents to Long Island where she lived until she married and moved to Yonkers. She is the wife of the late Edward A. Harding where they lived in the Halfmoon area for the past 26 years. She was predeceased by one son, Lt. Col. Edward A. Harding Jr. USAF. In 1978, Jessie retired from Harcourt Brace Publishers as senior editor of Elementary School Mathematics Textbooks, through grades K-6. Jessie was a member of the Shenendehowa Senior Citizens and a charter member of the Halfmoon Senior Citizens. She was cited twice for her volunteer services at Halfmoon Seniors. Survivors include son, Thomas E. and Kathleen Harding of Halfmoon; daughter-in-law, Louise Harding of S.C., ten grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. The Harding family would like to thank the caring staff at Northwood's at Troy Nursing Home and special thanks to Rev. William Hinrichs and Rev. John Hopkins of St. George's Episcopal Church for their pastoral care. Calling hours will be Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Clifton Park. The Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in St. George's Episcopal Church in Clifton Park. Burial will take place in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, N.Y.
