Jean Adella Thomson November 14, 1922 August 16, 2009 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma Jean Thomson of Dinsmore, SK on August 16, 2009 at the age of 86 years. She was predeceased by her husband Roy in 1991. She was born in Harrisburg, ON to Durwood and Loreen Green and moved with her family to Dinsmore in 1928 where they farmed north of Dinsmore. She graduated from Dinsmore School taking all her schooling there. She married Roy Thomson in 1941 and they moved to the original Thomson homestead. They farmed until 1972 when they moved into town. In 2003 she became a resident of the Dinsmore Health Care Centre. She was a very active lady becoming a member of Eastern Star, painting pictures, writing poems and stories. She was very active in the community being secretary and treasurer for 4-H and other clubs. She wrote stories of every activity and all the travelling that her and Roy did in their retirement. She is survived by her five children, Gail Erickson (Dennis), Karen Williamson (Don), Barry Thomson (Dorothy), Rodney Thomson (Elaine), Gerry Thomson (Janice); one sister, Louise Thomson of Saskatoon. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 20 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dinsmore United Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or Dinsmore Health Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Outlook Funeral Home.
