Decatur<!--Decatur-->Jane Stewart Montgomery James died Oct. 17, 2007, at her home following a long illness.She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jack W. James; and her four children, Joan Key (John) of Decatur, John James (Linda) of Whitmore Lake, Mich., Frank James (Linda) of Decatur and Patricia Parker (Jim) of Birmingham; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.She was the daughter of the late Charles Alexander Montgomery and Katie Lemon Montgomery of Chester, S.C. She and her husband were owners of James Florist from 1968 through 1972 and continued working in that field for the next 30 years. In addition to her artistic ability, she had the gift of hospitality and was a blessing to many people. She was a member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church from 1958 until 1978 and later New Song Family Church, formerly Trinity Chapel. She dedicated her life to her faith and her family.Donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley. Special thanks to Decatur Oncology, Dr. Lane Price, and caregivers, Ramona Ashmore, Rose Marie Loper and Mary Kellum. Visitation will be tonight, Oct. 18, from 6 to 8 at Ridout’s-Brown Service Funeral Home. Funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be friends and family.
