He joined the Navy and spent most of the war in the South Pacific. He married Rose Wadsworth after the war. He and his wife bought a home on Long Island (Hicksville). They were married for 29 years before he became a widower. Mr. Geraghty's career was in the defense industry – Fairchild Engine and Grumman Aerospace - where he worked for over 25 years. He was the hydraulic quality control engineer for the Grumman F-14 Tomcat. In 1985 he moved to La Mesa and became the Grumman representative at Rohr. James was an avid walker and led walks in San Diego for "Walkabout International" for 20 years. James' adventurous spirit and love of life will be missed by his daughter Laura, grand-daughter Megan and son-in-law Chris. He is survived by his sister Loretta Brennan in Upstate New York.
