Obituary of James-L. Watkins

JAMES L. WATKINS, 45Publix Supermarkets LAKELAND - James L. Watkins, 45, of Lakeland, passed away on Aug. 16, 2013, due to colon cancer. Jim was born in Hialeah, FL, and had lived in Lakeland since 1995. He worked for Publix as a retail maintenance coordinator for 20 years. He was a collector of Hot Wheels, and traveled to and attended many classic car shows throughout Florida, and other states. Jim is survived by his wife of 26 years, Ilona, a son James and wife Heather of Lakeland, a daughter Jessica Watkins Michael Piper of Lakeland, his mother Terry Watkins of Lakeland, and four grandchildren, Amaree, Luke, Zoey and Charlotte. He was preceded in death by a grandson Brennan. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 11 00 am at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, with entombment to follow in Serenity Gardens. Friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday morning from 9 30 to 11 00 am.
