Obituary of James-Joseph Jordan


JORDAN James Joseph Jordan, age 64 of Southbury, entered into eternal rest Thursday, January 29, 2009. Born on May 12, 1944, the son of the late Fred and Eileen Green Jordan, Jimmy grew up during his formative years with his family in Seaside Village, Bridgeport. Jimmy enjoyed 47 happy and productive years at Southbury Training School. There, he was most fortunate to have the best and most dedicated staff who enriched his life and brought him much joy. Jimmy loved sports and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He enjoyed working at the Day Program and returning to his extended family at Cottage 31A. The family would like to extend special thanks to all the staff and various managers at Southbury. Jimmy is survived by four sisters, Eileen Gaudett and Kathleen Tozzi, both of Clermont, Fla., Dorothy Barron of New Haven and Maureen Wicklund of Monroe; two brothers, Fred J. Jordan of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Robert Jordan of Trumbull. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Louise Jordan, who cared for him and provided many happy hours. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Thomas Church, Post Rd., Fairfield with burial to follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit the Jordan residence immediately following the interment service.
