Obituary of James Haggerty

HAGGERTY, James Alexander October 23, 1925 - February 29, 2016Jim passed away at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary with his daughters by his side. Jim lived his entire life in Ottawa except for the last three weeks when he moved to Calgary to be closer his family. He was loving his new home! He was a locomotive engineer with the CNR for 39 years. Jim was predeceased by his wife Doreen. He is survived by his daughters Marsha Lawson (Ron) and Maureen McKinnon. His granddaughters Kristen Lawson and Cheryl Hooper (Brad). He also had two great-grandsons, Aiden and Jacob. Jim is also survived by his sister Phylis Hunt and Nancy Atkins (Stan) and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at the Edgemont Revera in Calgary for making him feel so welcome in his new home and also the staff at the Revera Valley Stream in Ottawa. Interment will take place at Pinecrest Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 5 followed by a gathering for family and friends at 3 p.m. at the Valley Stream Retirement Residence, 2 Valley Stream Drive.
