-><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Carty, James B.James B. Carty, 86, died peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Sunrise of New City with his loving family by his side.Jimmy was born in Co. Sligo, Ireland on February 16, 1927 to Michael and Kate (Cahill) Carty. He emigrated to America in 1950 where he met the love of his life, Ann Meade. They married on his birthday in 1957. They settled in Inwood, NY and moved to Yonkers in 1976.Jimmy worked as a customer field representative for Con Ed for forty years and retired in 1992.Always a physically active man Jimmy was a passionate handball player. Later in life he was known for his love of scratch off tickets and trips to Atlantic City. Above all, Jimmy will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.In addition to his wife, Ann, he is survived by his three children; Patty and husband Gerry Creagh, Michael and wife Erin Carty and Bernadette Carty Bittner (Thomas, deceased) and his five grandchildren, Kristina, Brittany and Kaity Creagh and Jackie and Jimmy Carty. He is predeceased by his brothers, Patrick and Michael.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Wednesday at Our Lady of Sacred Heart R. C. Church, Tappan, NY. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY. Visiting is Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
