Obituary of James-A. Carty

<!-- James A. "Jack" CARTY --> CARTY, James A. "Jack" Age 86, passed away on January 28, 2010. He was retired from Bellsouth/ATT as an engineer in telecommunications after 45 years, and was a Life Member of the Telephone Pioneers. After retirement, he served as a volunteer at St. Thomas Hospital. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a member of the Blakemore United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Pat Carty; children, Terry (Anne) Carty, Susan (John) Wilburn, Mark (Dawn) Carty and their mother, Jacquelyn Carty MacPherson; daughter, Lynn Conklin; grandchildren, Jonathan (Julie) Wilburn, Rebecca Carty, James (Maurine) Carty, Sarah Conklin. Funeral services will be on Monday, February 1, 2010 at 10:30 a.m., at Blakemore United Methodist Church. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Blakemore United Methodist Church.
