Obituary of James-Kenneth Jordan

JAMES KENNETHJORDAN, Sr., 69 LAKELAND - James Kenneth Jordan, Sr., 69 of Lakeland, died May 31, 2012 due to heart and respiratory failure. Ken was born February 16, 1943 in Pavo, GA to Johnny and Effie (Cannon) Jordan and moved to Florida in 1954. Ken is a retired mail handler for the United States Postal Service with over 42 years of service. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing but most of all he loved his church, Bethany Free Will Baptist Church and attending its monthly men's prayer breakfast. Ken is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Chris Jordan and his sisters, Doris Brown and Carolyn Bramble. Ken was united in marriage on July 29, 1974 to his wife, Margie who resides in Lakeland. He is also survived by his sons, Reverend and Deputy Sheriff, Jimmy (Michelle) Jordan, Jr. of Lakeland, Kevin (Sopha) of Georgia, and Billy (Seva) of Tennessee; his former daughter's-in-law, Jeannie of Lakeland and Melinda of West Palm Beach and Lori of Tennessee; his brothers, Howell of Plant City, Billy of Lakeland and Frank of Tennessee; his grandchildren J.W., Christopher, Kyla, Aaron, Trey and Emerald. Friends will be received from 5-8pm Wednesday at the Lakeland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2pm Thursday at the Bethany Free Will Baptist Church, Lakeland. Interment will take place in Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
