Obituary of Izella-Mae Ammons

Izella Mae Ammons, 88, a resident of The Waters in Seymour since January 2007 due to a severe stroke and formerly of Crothersville, passed away at 11:52 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.She moved to Crothersville from Paris Crossing in 1958, then moved to the Village Apartments in 1987. She was a beautician working at Style Mode and Beaute' Beauty Shop for Z. Madge Wilson and was a notary public in her home. She spent a lot of time in a wheelchair due to being crippled, but lived by herself after her parents passed away. She was a member of Mt. Eden Christian Church in Scottsburg. Ms. Wilson was her power of attorney, and they had been friends since childhood, Madge being 9 years of age and Izella being 7 years old, when they met.Born March 6, 1922, in Deputy, she was the only child of Charles H. and Alba Vespie Hughes Ammons, both of whom preceded her in death.The Rev. Bruce Stephenson will conduct memorial services at 11 a.m. Sunday at Mt. Eden Christian Church. Cremation was entrusted to Adams Funeral Home, Crothersville.Expressions of sympathy may be sent to Z.
