Obituary of Helen-Allen Henderson

WADLEY, Ga. - Mrs. Helen Allen Henderson, age 85, of Wadley, Ga. died Wednesday evening at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Mrs. Henderson, born in Burke County, had lived in Wadley many years. She was a bookkeeper for Jefferson County Schools. She was a member of the Wadley Baptist Church, where she was active in the choir, the Womens Missionary Union, G. A. Director, and Teacher of Dorcas Sunday School Class. Mrs. Henderson was also a member of the Jefferson County Library. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Wadley Baptist Church, 225 N. Main St., Wadley, Georgia, 30477 or to the Georgia Baptist Childrens Home, 9420 Blackshear Hwy., Baxley, Georgia 31513. Funeral services will be Saturday Morning at 11:00 a.m. in the Wadley Baptist Church, with Reverend Rusty Manning and Reverend Tom Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in the Wadley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11a.m. prior to the service on Saturday at the Wadley Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be: Eddie Fennell, Benjie Leaptrott, George Ratchford, Jr., Bobby Weeks, Randall Jones, and Adam Brett. Honorary Pall Bearers will be: Deacons of Wadley Baptist Church, and members of The Dorcas, Gleaners and Victory Sunday School Classes. She is survived by: Her husband, Pete F. Henderson of Wadley; 3 Children: Allen C. Henderson (Susan), Danette H. Plummer (Bob), Julie H. Lee; 4 Grandchildren: Robert, Margaret, Christopher, and Nicholas.
