Obituary of George-Theodore Jordan

JORDAN George Theodore (Ted) Jordan, Jr. of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Chicago, IL passed away Friday, October 21, 2011. Ted was born September 1, 1938 in Springfield, MO to the late George T. and Jessie Jordan. He is survived by his loving wife, Earline Ray Jordan of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; sons, George T. (Jay) Jordan, III of Del Mar, CA and Gregory Mark Jordan of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Taylor, George T. Jordan, IV, Cassandra, Skye Anna and Rhys Alexander; and siblings, Helen Mae Ruckman of Waynesville, MO, Mark Jordan of Chicago, IL and Susie Jordan of Springfield, MO. Ted graduated from Greenwood High School, Springfield and the University of Missouri, Columbia. He proudly served our country as a Captain in the U.S. Army. After a short stint with Kimberly-Clark Corporation in 1963, he joined the Leo Burnett Company Advertising Agency headquartered in Chicago where he and his wife raised their two sons. In addition to his assignments in the United States, Ted headed client service operations in Australia and managed the agencys office in Detroit. Ted retired in 1995 after 32 years with the Leo Burnett agency, and he and Earline moved to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. He was an active member of the Sawgrass Chapel. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 24, 2011 in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home.
