Obituary of George-Marcus Hawes


HAWES George Marcus Hawes, age 78, of New Canaan, died on Wednesday, July 14, 2004, at his residence. Born on June 4, 1926, in Chicago, he was the son of the late George Raymond and Lois Young Hawes. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, and a 44-year veteran of the life insurance and financial service industry. He was a board member of NAIFA-SW, and a volunteer with Strays and Others of New Canaan. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Bodzer and her husband, George Bodzer, of Malverne, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Amanda and Jeffrey Bodzer of Malverne; and his beloved feline companion. The Hoyt Funeral Home 199 Main Street, New Canaan, is in charge of all funeral arrangements. There will be no visitation, but a memorial service will be held at the Second Congregational Church in Greenwich, on Friday, July 23, 2004, at 2:30 p.m. (Church office: 203-869-9311).
