Obituary of Frederick-Leslie Whitmore


WHITMORE Frederick Leslie Whitmore passed away December 12, 2005. Born August 30, 1905 in Hinesdale N.H. to Dr. Albra, and Mary Labbie Whitmore. The family moved to Venice, FL and later to Winter Park to allow him to go to high school and Rollins Academy. He retired from Atlantic Coast Lines-C.S.X Railroad after 47 yrs. He served as Commadore of the Jax Outboard Club and Commander of Jax Power Squadron, and a final honor of the opportunity to be listed in “Who's Who of Business Executives”. He was predeceased by his wife Doris, a former director of the Jacksonville Children's Museum and later MOSH. Survivors include his son Frederick Eugene, his daughter Marian C. Young of Winter Park, FL. Six grandchildren, many great grandchildren and a sister Mary E. Stewart of Lake Worth, FL.
