Obituary of Eugene Anderson


Electronic TechLAKE ALFRED -- Mr. Eugene "Gene" Benson Anderson of Lake Alfred died of complications of Alzheimer's disease Thursday (Oct. 2, 2003) at Winter Haven Heath and Rehab. He was 78.Born in Lantana on Jan. 22, 1925, he came to Lake Alfred from Orlando in 1971. He was a retired electronic technician. He was an Air Force veteran and served as a merchant marine during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Frierson-Nichols Post No. 8, Winter Haven. He was an assistant Scout master for troop No. 154 in Lake Alfred.Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Ruth "Corinne" Anderson; sons, Carl M. Anderson, Boston, Arthur L. Anderson, North Carolina; brother, Ivor Anderson, Pinebrook, N.J.; sisters, Charlotte Brockette, Texas, JoAnn Archer, Lantana; one grandchild.Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of Lake Alfred, Haines Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue, Lake Alfred. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, or First United Methodist Church of Lake Alfred.
