Obituary of Estelle-P. Carignan

Estelle P. Carignana longtime resident of Lowell; 83 LOWELL -- Estelle P. Carignan, age 83, a longtime resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at D'Youville Senior Care in Lowell.The eldest of nine children, she was born in Lowell, MA. on June 5, 1927 a daughter of the late Arthur W. and Gertrude (Rousseau) Carignan. She attended Lowell schools.Prior to her retirement she had been employed as a Materials Distributor for the Lowell Lingerie Company.Estelle had been an active member of the former Ste. Jeanne D'Arc Parish. She had also taught CCD Classes.She enjoyed horseback riding, golfing and she loved to travel. A generous and giving person and caregiver to those in need, she volunteered her time to provide transportation to both Aids and Cancer patients.Estelle touched many lives, she was a devoted and caring sister, a loving and thoughtful aunt, she loved spending time with her nieces and nephews and has given them all cherished memories. She will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.Her survivors include: 5 sisters: Arlene Jussaume and her husband Paul of Lowell, Jacqueline Gallant of Methuen, Gloria Desrochers and her husband Raynal of Cherry Hill, NJ, Esther Turcotte and her husband Maurice of Haymarket, Virginia and Judith St. Germain of Jaffrey, NH., 2 brothers: Gerald A. Carignan and his wife Constance of Lowell, and Ronald Carignan and his wife Pauline of Lowell. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Arthur Carignan of Salem, NH.CARIGNAN -- Estelle P. Carignan, age 83, of Lowell passed away on February 22, 2011. Family and friends may call on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the ARCHAMBAULT FUNERAL HOME, 309 Pawtucket St., Lowell. Funeral Saturday morning with a funeral mass to be celebrated at 11 o'clock at the Parish of St. Rita, 158 Mammoth Rd., Lowell.
