Obituary of Ernest Thomas Edward Haggerty

Ernest Thomas Edward Haggerty 1935-2015 At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on January 28, 2015, Mr. Ernest Thomas Edward Haggerty, husband of the late Geraldine (nee Montroy) Haggerty formerly of Pocologan NB. Born at New River Beach on November 6, 1935, he was a son of the late Everett and Hazel (nee Williams) Haggerty. A loving father, grandfather and brother, Ernest is survived by two daughters: Tracy Scott of Blacks Harbour NB and Lori Haggerty of Pocologan NB; two grandchildren: Amanda Scott (Jesse) and Cody Wittke; one brother: Ralph (Martha) Haggerty of Port Clyde NS and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and wife, Ernest was predeceased by two grandchildren: Florence and Kenny both in infancy; three brothers: Harold, David in infancy and Russell in infancy; one sister: Mary Elizabeth in infancy. Ernest was a veteran having served approximately ten years with the Canadian Armed Forces as a member of the RCD stationed out of CFB Petawawa in Ontario. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a Security Guard for Connors Bros in Blacks Harbour. Ernest enjoyed playing cards, Bingo and socializing at the local Tim Horton's. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 40 in St. George where he remained very active in his later years. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. In keeping with Ernest's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. However, the family invites you to a time of reflection and memories to be held at the St. George Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 40 in St. George on Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 1-3 pm.
