Obituary of Eileen Jordan


FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — Eileen F. (Hickey) Jordan, 101, of Dover, N.H., and Fairhaven, Mass., formerly a longtime resident of Framingham, died Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Langdon Place in Dover."Eil" was the wife of the late Harry Jordan, who died in 1948. She was a great and dear friend to many, an avid traveler, and the world's best aunt.Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Catherine W. (Foley) Hickey. For many years, she was the bookkeeper and office manager at the former Western Union in downtown Framingham. In recent years she spent her time between New Hampshire and Massachusetts' Southcoast. Mrs. Jordan is survived by: a niece, Ann Marie McKay of California; her grandniece, Jeannine Ryan of Dover; her grandnephew, Jay Ryan of Fairhaven; and a great-grandniece, Kathryn Ryan Baird of Philadelphia. She was the sister of the late Elizabeth McCarron, James C. Hickey, Genevieve Broggi and Kay Hickey.Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her funeral Mass on Saturday, April 17, at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen Church, 221 Concord St., Route 126, Framingham. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Natick. At the family's request there will be no funeral home visiting hours.
