Edward W. Archie Malley of Braintree, formerly of Weymouth, and Savin Hill, where he was raised, died July 31, 2014. He worked for many years for the New England Telephone Company as a cable splicer. Archie was a member of the Weymouth Elks and also the Braintree Moose and VFW. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and was a member of the Sand Trap Mens Club. Archie also loved listening to Irish music, travelling to Florida, spending time with his family and grandchildren, and loved all local sports teams. He was the husband of Carole D. Malley and the late Helen Malley; father of Karen M. MacDonald of Weymouth, Edward W. Malley Jr. and his wife Paula of Rockland, Kathy Ann Schmitt and her husband Paul of Weymouth, John F. Malley of Rockland, and Stephen A. Malley and his wife Donna of Pembroke; brother of Fr. Vernon J. Malley, O.Carm, of Tuczon, Ariz., and the late Kathleen F. McLaughlin, Fr. John E. Malley, O.Carm, Joyce Ann Malley and Nora V. Byrnes. Also survived by 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Monday 4-8 p.m. in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles and Middle Street), East Weymouth. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday prior to the funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth, at 10:30 a.m. Burial in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Carmelite Mission Office, 8501 Bailey Road, Darien, IL 60561-8418.
