Obituary of Edward Davidson

Edward "Eddie" Davidson, age 76, of Athens, was called to rest on Tuesday, November 27, 2012.A native of St. Thomas, Jamaica, Mr. Davidson immigrated to the United States in 1974. He worked as a master electrician in the granite industry, where he was loved and highly respected.Mr. Davidson loved his family and always made time for others, as well as his beloved old Ford truck. He had an infectious sense of humor that could light up a room. He loved the outdoors, and was a jack-of-all-trades as well as a master of many.Survivors include his beautiful wife of over 50 years, Charlotte Adella Davidson; sons, Denton, Leighton, George, and Troy; daughters, Delores, Bernadette, Darcia, Janet, and Karen; two brothers, two sisters, several grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.Visitation is scheduled for 4-7 p.m. Friday, December 7, at Gardenview Funeral Chapel. The family will greet friends from 4-5 p.m.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Athens, with interment at Evergreen Memorial Park.Memorial donations can be made at any Wells Fargo Branch, and will go toward the Victim's Crime Fund.Gardenview Funeral Chapel, Athens, is in charge of the arrangements.
