Obituary of Earl-E. Wheeler

Earl E. Wheeler of Endicott After a loving and fulfilling life, Earl E. Wheeler, 79, of Endicott, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 8, 2008, surrounded by his family. Earl was born December 2, 1928 in Syracuse, N.Y. He was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Helen Wheeler; his brother, Jack Wheeler; and two brothers-in-law, Dick Cassidy and Roy Shear. Earl was a beloved husband of his bride of 58 years, Betty Wheeler; devoted father of six children and their spouses, Linda and Brian Watson, Richard and Kimberly Wheeler, Michael and Terry Lynn Wheeler, Thomas and Susan Wheeler, Nancy Wheeler, John and Kelly Wheeler; and proud grandfather of seven grandchildren, Daniel Savich, David Savich, Allison Watson, Katie Wheeler, Chelsea Wheeler, Morgan Wheeler, and Paige Wheeler; a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Susan Wheeler; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joan Shear, Anne and Terry Terrenoire, David and Lorraine Cassidy, and Joyce Cassidy; as well as many nieces and nephews. Earl is also remembered fondly by those he called his other "sons and daughters", Gene Raymondi, Dan Wahila, Rich Olson, Ron Olivera, Dan Yager, Mark and Lynne Radley; and considered himself "Grandpa" to DeeDee Atway, Ron Carter, Justine Belles, Kadianne Francis, Hope Tuckman, Kevin Radley, and Lisa Radley. He is remembered by those who knew him for his integrity, honor, and humor, as well as being a man dearly loved and respected by his family. Earl was a US Navy Veteran, having served aboard the USS Fresno. He was a longtime member of the Endicott Fire Department. A celebration of Earl's life and Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 13, at 10:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 701 West Main St., Endicott. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal.
