Obituary of Edith-Mays Wheeler

TUSCALOOSA Edith Mays Wheeler of Tuscaloosa died April 1, 2009. A Memorial Service will be 10 a.m. Monday April 6, 2009 at Westervelt-Warner Chapel of First Presbyterian Church in Tuscaloosa, AL with Dr. Charles Durham officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery, AL with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. A reception will follow the service at the church. Her daughter, Francine Mc Millan Smitherman of Birmingham, preceded her in death.Survivors include her husband, Robert Lange Wheeler; two children, Harriet Mc Millan Moore of Wyomissing, Pa. and Harry Mays Mc Millan (Ann) of Montgomery; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wheeler enjoyed a Mardi Gras Club, Study Club and Bridge Club. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Tuscaloosa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Living River Camp and Conference Center, First Presbyterian Church, 900 Greensboro Avenue, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35401.
