Obituary of Doris James


JAMES, Doris Irene (Lindquist) April 6, 1920 - June 3, 2003 Doris passed away peacefully on June 3, 2003 at St. Joseph's Auxiliary Hospital in Edmonton. Left to mourn her passing are her children, Ruth (Paul) Fredland of Grande Prairie, Janet (Pat) Adams of Medicine Hat, Mildred Lindquist of Lacombe, Larry (Carol) Lindquist of Edmonton, Elizabeth (Bruce) Townsend of Stittsville, Ontario, Nancy Lindquist (Fred Goodner) of Calgary; eight grandchildren, Shauna (Brooks) Hoffos, Mark (Daphne) Lindquist, Carrie (Dan) Howden, Gillian Lindquist, Brendan and Bevan Adams, Emily and Kathrine Townsend; as well as five great-grandchildren. Also left are stepchildren, Ann (Earl) Dodds and Linda (Ivan) Lewis and their families. She is also survived by her brother, Thomas Wilson. Doris was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Mary Wilson; her first husband Archie Lindquist; and her second husband Harold James.Doris spent most of her life on the farm near Hythe, Alberta. She moved to Grande Prairie in 1991 and then to Edmonton in 1997. There will be a Memorial Service at Elmwood Community Hall at 16415 - 83 Avenue, Edmonton on Friday, June 6, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Hythe Legion Hall in Hythe, Alberta on Saturday, June 7, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Hythe Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Auxiliary Hospital, 10707 - 29 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T6J 6W1 or to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation, 10409 - 98 Street, Grand Prairie, Alberta T8V 2E8.
