He is also survived by his eight brothers and sisters; and three nephews. His siblings areJohnny, Tracy, Denise, Austin, Carrie, Harley, Brandy andAshley who looked up to their big brother whom they could always count on if they needed anything. David will be also be sorely missed by his lifelong best friend, Gator and "mom" Patti who were always there for David throughout his life and helped him become the wonderful man he was. Holly's family, Paul and Barb Wilkinson and Theresa, Heather and Christopher Wilkinson who will miss the "son" and "brother" he was to them. David was a hard worker and was literally a "jack of all trades". He most enjoyed carpentry and wood-working and had recently started his own company. David was respected for his quality craftsmanship and his fair and honest business dealings. David was an easy-going, good-natured man who had a great sense of humor. He laughed easily and often, and those who knew him well will miss his laughter. He had the gift of being able to get along well with all kinds of people and always saw the good in everyone. He was sincere, and his friendships were real and lasting. He was a genuine friend who would "do anything for you" and who often put himself out for others. David enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, boating, camping, riding his motorcycle, and taking his kids out on the jetski. He was happiest when he was with his family and friends and having fun in the great outdoors. David had a relationship with his Creator that in recent months had become even stronger. His confidence in Bible promises gave him comfort and hope for the future, and he shared the things he was learning with his family and friends. It is this same faith that will give those who love David the strength to cope with his absence and the patience to await the fulfillment of God's promise of resurrection and life in paradise. Gathering of friends will be from 11 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009 at Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand, FL.
