Obituary of David Harrison


Railroad DispatcherHAINES CITY -- Mr. David P. Harrison of Haines City died of cancer Wednesday (Aug. 10, 2005) at home. He was 74.Born in Toledo, Ohio, on Nov. 30, 1930, Mr. Harrison came to Haines City from there 10 years ago. He worked as a dispatcher for the New York Central Railroad. He was president of the Fed-Haven Softball League and a member of the Lake Region Men's Golf League. He was a member of the Lake Region Music Majors. He played semiprofessional baseball. He was a member of First Christian Church in Haines City where he was a deacon.Mr. Harrison is survived by his wife, Pat Harrison; son, Denny Harrison, Toledo; sister, Mary Anne Delefs, Toledo; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Lake Region Clubhouse in Haines City. Memorials may be made to the building fund for First Christian Church in Haines City.
