Obituary of David-Douglas Owen


Passed away with dignity on August 22, 2003 at the age of seventy-four at the West Island Palliative Care Residence. Doug was a master electrician, an Air Canada Cargo Service Specialist and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was also an avid boater. He was predeceased by his wife Patricia Arlene Owen, his parents Eluned Mary Owen (Jone) and Hayden Owen and by his brother Nev Owen. He was the father of David, Scott (Mylene) and Darlene (Ken) and grandfather of Sheena, Tyler and Kendra. He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law Maureen (Thom) and Marjorie (Vic) as well as his nephews and nieces Chris (Lue), Sophia, Marleen (Dustin) and Megan. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. at Rideau Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 4239 Sources Blvd. on Saturday, August 30, 2003. Donations in memory of Doug can be made to the West Island Palliative Care Residence at 265 Andre-Brunet, Kirkland, H9H 3R4, 693-1718. "May the wind be at your back, may the sun shine on your face and may there be plenty of water under your keel."
