COLETTE JEAN MALABAR Colette Jean (nee Agnese), 90, died Tues day, February 26, 2008, at the William Childs Hospice House after a brief illness. Colette was born in La Rochelle France, the youngest of five children. Colette was raised in Normandy, France and survived the German invasion, occupa tion and the liberation of France by the Allied troops. Colette was to marry in 1939 when World War II broke out in Europe. Unaware for over five years of the fate of her future husband, Raymond, who at the time was in the French Merchant Marines, she bravely awaited his return in 1945 and was mar ried on January 2, 1946. She and her husband moved to the United States from France in 1947, arriving on her 30th birthday. They lived in New York City, Pasadena, California and again in New York City before moving to Florida with her husband Raymond in 1982.Married for over 50 years, Colette was pre ceded in death by her husband Raymond. Colette was a compassionate woman of the highest integrity, loved her family and friends. Her joie de vivre will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son, Richard Jean; daughter, Colette Heid; grandchildren, Barbara Parker and Richard Jean; great- granddaughters, Jennifer Jean, Jacqueline Jean, Justine Jean and Amanda Parker. In France, she is survived by her sister-in-law Raymonde Agnese; brother-in-law Bernard Jean; nieces, Pascale Agnese Louvet, Monique Jean Giffaut, Jeannie Jean Baumert; nephew Bernard Agnese and numerous cousins, great and great-grand nieces and nephews. Addition ally her adopted American Family are located in Maine, New Jersey, New York and California. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, February 28th, at Palm Bay Funeral Home, 950 Malabar Road, SE, Palm Bay. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 29th, at 2 p.m., at St Josephs Catholic Church Miller Street location at 1425 Miller Street NE, Palm Bay.
