Clyde Eugene Anderson, 83 of Panama City, passed away with family at his side, on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Covenant Care at Bay Medical Center. Eugene was born in Red Head, FL. to the late Curtis M. Anderson and Carrie Bea Williams Anderson and was a 1949 graduate of Bay High School. Eugene married the love of his life, Virginia "Jean Hand Anderson, on August 16, 1949 in Panama City. There were best friends for 63 years when she passed. He worked for Chevron Oil Company for 41 years in various positions including a Warehouse Foreman and an Analyst. They were transferred to Miami in 1972, and then transferred to Atlanta, GA in 1985. After retiring, they moved back to Panama City to be closer to their daughter Cathy Starling, her husband Bruce, and to help raise their two wonderful grandsons, Christopher and Kyle Starling, wife Jessica. Eugene is also survived by two sisters: Mary A. French of Panama City, Martha Pope (Kenneth) of Atlanta, GA; two brothers: Wayne Anderson (Myrtle), and Al Dean Anderson all of Panama City, and numerous nieces and nephews and his wife's family. He was preceded in death by Virginia "Jean", his parents, two brothers, Rev. Frank Anderson and Wade Anderson.Eugene and Jean enjoyed traveling all over the United States, the change of seasons, and enjoyed the mountains. He was a longtime member and served as Sunday School Superintendent of the First Pentecostal Church of Panama City. He was also active in the Parkway Lions Club and the Chevron Retirement Club. Funeral services will begin at 5:00 PM Sunday at the First Pentecostal church of Panama City, 179 N. Tyndall Parkway, with the Rev. Allen Crabtree officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church from 4:00 pm until service time at 5:00 PM. Asked to serve as pallbearers are Christopher and Kyle Starling, Allen Johnson, Kenneth Pope, Chad Six, Anthony Brannon, Travis Kirkland, Jeff Webb, and James Swearingin.Honorary Pall Bearers.
