Charles J. Sullivan, 85, passed away on September 24, 2007 at St. John's Hospital in Yonkers. Charlie was the beloved son of Joseph and Angela Sullivan. He was born in Yonkers on June 18, 1922. He went to Holy Rosary School, Gorton High School, and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Manhattan College in 1941. He was a veteran of WWII, proudly serving in the US Army in New Guinea in the Medical Corps. Charlie is survived by his loving brothers and sisters; his twin sister, Charlotte of Yonkers; his sister, Pat McCormick of Yorktown Heights; his brother, Brian of Lakewood, NJ; his brother, Frank of Yorktown Heights. Also surviving are Charlie's adored 19 nieces and nephews. Charlie was a great track and cross country runner in high school and college. He won the mile race in 1941 at the Westchester County Championship race. He belonged to the Secular Franciscan Order and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Charlie on Thursday, at 10:30 AM, at the Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers, with interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Yonkers.
