Obituary of Cecil Thomas

Cecil Thomas Cecil Thomas, 101, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, at Miracle Hill Nursing Home. The service will be at 10 a.m. EDT Saturday at McChapel AME Church in Marianna. Brown-Green-Fralin Funeral Home (904-924-9346) in Jacksonville is handling arrangements. Mother Cecil Thomas was born June 25, 1905, the daughter of the late Alex and Neta Hayes in Marianna.She was the first of five children. She was married to the late Henry Larry. To this union, one child was born, Neta McKay. She later married Fred Thomas. She attended the public schools of Jackson County. She leaves to cherish her memory two grandchildren, Henry McKay (and Polly) of Jacksonville and Mollie M. George (and Daniel) of Baldwin; two stepdaughters, Joyce M. Davis (and Charlie) and Gwendolyn Thomas, both of Tallahassee; a brother, John Hayes Sr. (and Edna); and an adopted sister, Marie Campbell of Panama City.She was preceded in death by her parents; a child, Neta McKay; and her husbands, Henry Larry and Fred Thomas.
