Obituary of Catherine-Wester Thomas

THOMAS Catherine Wester Thomas, 72, passed away Sunday night, November 11th, after a sudden illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Jacksonville and retired from Long Life Dairies. Her husband, Herbert Thomas, preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughters, Elaine McAlister (Ronnie) and Brenda Van Antwerp, son, Ernest Bell (Barbara), sister, Penny Small, six grandchildren, Angie Serrano, Johnny Johnson, Kimberly Bell, Archie Sweat, Ronnie McAlister and April Bell; six great grandchildren, Leo Serrano, Joel Serrano, Adrian Cook, Christopher Cook, Kaleb Cook and Ariana Serrano; and several nieces and nephews. Pastor John E. Hugus will lead Funeral services at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 15th, in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4315 Main St., with interment to follow in South Prong Cemetery near Sanderson, FL. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
