Catherine Joanna Mary Grennan (née O'Malley) August 25, 1916 - January 02, 2006 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Lower Sackville) GRENNAN, Catherine Joanna Mary - 89, Beaver Bank, passed away January 2, 2006, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Georgina (MacMurray) O'Malley, and widow of the late John Gordon Grennan. She was a graduate of the Convent of the Scared Heart, Halifax. After finishing her course at Maritime Business College, she taught in the Stenographic Department for several years. Catherine was also a permanent employee of the Federal Department of Health and Welfare, Family Allowances and Old Age Security Division as a stenographer and typist. She was the ninth and last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, great-grandnephews and great-grandnieces. Arrangements are entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville, where visitation will take place 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. John Vianney Catholic Church or a charity of one's choice.
