Obituary of Carol Thomas

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mrs. Carol Ann Thomas,53, beloved wife of twenty-three years to Bruce W. Thomas, entered into rest Saturday, December 10th, 2011, a week shy of her 54th birthday, at her home surrounded by her family, following a courageous four year battle with Cancer. Born in Boston, MA, she was a daughter of the late Frederic Hucksam and the late Marcella MacNeil Hucksam McSweeney. She had been a resident of Aiken County since 1974 where she was a member of Clearwater First Baptist Church. She had formerly been a Secretary with S.R.S. as well as Bechtel. Family and friends were a very important part of her life. Carol had a large network of friends that she enjoyed spending time with. She had a very adventuresome spirit and enjoyed skydiving, being on her computer and traveling. She was also an entrepreneur who had owned and operated several businesses. In addition to her parents and devoted husband, additional family members include siblings, the late Frederic Hucksam, Linda Dahlhauser, (Pete) Rineyville, KY and Clare Donoghue, (Paul)Braintree, MA; nephews, Fred Hucksam, (Crystal) Paul Donoghue, Jr., Peter Dahlhauser, (Erin) and Seth Thomas; (Angela) nieces, Angela Kist, (James) and Lisa Biddle; (Corey) great-nephews, Jaxon Kist, Sam Thomas and Addison Thomas; great-nieces, Rita Hucksam and Calliegh Hucksam, mother and father-in-law, Wade and Marion Thomas and brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Debbie Thomas. In accordance with her wishes, Carol will be cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, December 13th, 2011, at 7 oclock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Chaplain Dexter Lambert officiating.
