Obituary of Carol-O-Hern Anderson


May 12, 2004 Carol O'Hern Anderson of Syracuse, 83, died May 12. Born in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of William and Mary Chilvers, Mrs. Anderson was raised in Michigan City, Indiana. A World War II veteran of the Women's Army Corps, she was alsoactive in the Unity Kitchen Community, a foster mother for Catholic Charities, and volunteered for the Alzheimer's Association. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Her first husband James J. O'Hern died in 1963. Her second husband Alanson E. Anderson Jr. died in 1980. Survived by two sons, Walter P. O'Hern of Fair Haven, NY, and James K. O'Hern of Convent Station, New Jersey; two daughters, Mary F. Kane of Syracuse and Margaret M. Boyce of Syracuse; a brother William Chilvers of Huntley, Illinois; two stepsons, Paul V. Anderson of Marcellus and Robert S. Anderson of Mill Valley, California; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial Mass celebrating her life will be Friday, May 14, at 1 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. The family has requested contributions to the American Heart Association or the Arthritis Foundation. Edward J. Ryan & Son, Inc.
