ANDERSON, James "Bryan" April 19, 1969 - Calgary, ABSeptember 11, 2013 - Calgary, AB James "Bryan" Anderson passed away with his family by his side after injuries sustained from an unexpected equestrian accident while out riding in the field on his ranch south of Calgary on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the age of 44 years. Bryan attended Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School and for a short time Arizona State in Phoenix. He was an ambitious international competitor who represented his country numerous times in competitions around the world and was a tremendous lover of the sport. With countless years of experience, Bryan was able to share his wealth of knowledge with others. He had numerous students who will benefit for years to come from his mentorship and unique style of coaching that made him shine both in and out of the competition arena. Although his love of the horse and teaching was huge, Bryan will most be remembered for his fun-loving spirit, genuine support of his fellow competitors in the sport and his compassion towards others. Bryan had countless friends both in and out of the equine world and was always available to lend a helping hand to anyone of his friends or family members in need and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Bryan is survived by his loving wife Cari of Calgary; father J.C. (Karen) of Calgary and mother Barbara (Fred) of Phoenix, AZ; brother John (Kelly) and sisters Susan and Sandra of Calgary; brother-in-law Eric; nephews Austin and Eric; uncle Bob (Kathey) of San Antonio, TX; and cousins Steve and Mike of Texas. A Celebration of Bryan's life will be held at Congress Hall, Spruce Meadows (18011 Spruce Meadows Way S.W.) on today, September 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. A private family memorial to appropriately place Bryan's remains will be held at a later date.
