Brenda Lee Henderson, daughter of the late Raymond and Louise (Roy) Morrill passed away peacefully in the company of family and friends at her home in College Station, Texas on April 26, 2011, at the age of 50 (March 10, 1961), after a long and courageous fight with complications stemming from a rare form of cancer. A native of Amesbury, (Amesbury High School Class of 1979) her life was a remarkable journey, which spanned from the shores of New England to across the plains of Texas, and left behind countless good memories, friendships, and a loving family. As a wife, the powerful bonds of love that existed between Brenda and her husband Jim was a storybook romance from the beginning. As children they grew up next door to each other in Amesbury, and Brenda would often sneak parting glances at her future husband. What started as a childhood crush in that small New England town was eventually transformed into a marriage that lasted over twenty years. Their commitment to each other was strong enough to overcome any obstacle that came their way, and in the process they raised three children (Kristen, Donny, and Scott) and were blessed with two grandchildren (Teilar and Kamryn). As a Mother, Brenda encouraged all of her children to find their own path in life, and pursue their dreams with a vigor and dedication to do what made them happy and fulfilled. Inspired by the example set by their free spirited Mother, all of her children were never afraid to work towards their full potential. Among her proudest accomplishments was the home that Brenda created in the Texas countryside for her family, a beautiful estate of warmth and love; she left her impression on every detail. It stands today as a testament to her creativity, and devotion to family. Brenda's dedication to making others have a more rich and fulfilling life was personified when she found her calling as a registered massage therapist and as a dialysis technician. Whether administering physical therapy through massage, or providing bedside comfort to her many dialysis patients, those who encountered Brenda in the course of her work found someone that had an infectious passion for living and doing good work. As many friends will attest, you didn't have to know Brenda for very long for her to make a lasting impression. The briefest encounter could provide a lifetime of memories, as she was always willing to help others with her generosity and honest advice. Her loss at such a young age is a loss for all of us. However, it is the most brilliant of brightest stars that burn for the shortest amount time. She is survived by her husband Jim Henderson of College Station, Texas; daughter Kristen Louise Stueven and son-in-law John Michael Stueven of Albertville, Minn.; sons Donald Raymond Hall of Los Angeles, Calif. and Scott Morrill Hall of Washington, D.C.; granddaughters Teilar and Kamryn Stueven of Albertville, Minn.; brothers Richard Charles Morrill of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and David Michael Morrill of Marietta, Ga. A private memorial service was held for friends and family at the residence of Jim and Brenda on Saturday, April 30th 2011 in College Station, Texas. Donations in memory of Brenda Henderson can be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, either through their website, www.hospicebrazosvalley.org, or by phone at (979) 821-2266.
