Obituary of Betty Wilson


TeacherWINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Betty Fisher Wilson of Winter Haven died from complications of a sinus infection Tuesday (Jan. 6, 2004) at her home. She was 75.Born in Rocky Mount, N.C., she came here from Lockport, Ill., in 1945. She was a teacher for Elbert Elementary School. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Refugee Resettlement Program for 25 years. She was a supporter and elder of Grace Lutheran School. She was a president of the Kiwanianne Club of Winter Haven and member of Elbert Retired Teachers Group.Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, J. Russel Wilson. She is survived by her mother, Grace L. Fisher, Winter Haven; sister, Georgia A. Fisher, Winter Haven; daughters, Lisa K. Billetdeaux, Palm Coast, Cynthia W. Johnson, Cairo, Ga.; sons, Mark A. Kirkpatrick, Sarasota, Russel S. Wilson, Lakewood, Colo., Robert M. Wilson, Orlando, Christopher L. Wilson, Franklin, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Lutheran School Endowment or Scholarship Funds. Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, Winter Haven.
