Obituary of Betty Wilson

BETTY WILSON We are deeply saddened to lose one of the most important people in our lives at St. Joseph's Hospital at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August the 5th, 2011. Betty was a caring and inspirational mother and mother-in-law to daughter Alice Wilson Forrest, son John and loving daughter-in-law Rose Wilson, son Paul and devoted daughter-in-law Maria Wilson, son Gordon and devoted daughter-in-law Lynn Wilson and son Mark Wilson. Alice, John, Paul, Gordie and Mark are thinking about your overcooked roast, hiding the peas under the table, your fabulous homemade lemon meringue pie and all our great conversations and time well spent with you around the dinner table. Her grandchildren Richard Forrest, Jennifer Catena, Sarah Forrest and Rebecca Forrest will always remember their summers at the cottage in Wasaga Beach playing with grandma at the arcade, waterslide, the beach and late nights eating Chef Boyardee and watching Golden Girls on late night television. Will also be very missed by caring granddaughter-in-law Joanne Forrest (Richard) and caring grandson-in-law Jay Catena (Jennifer). She was affectionately known as "Betsy" to her great-grandchildren Stephen and Andrew Forrest (sons of Richard and Joanne Forrest). She left us all with a sense of style, humour and passion for life. We know you are in heaven with Dad-Grandpa (John Wilson) sitting around the poker table with your cup of tea and a loaf of white bread with family and friends thinking about where to go for your next destination for Fish and Chips. Our heartfelt thanks to Jose San-Pedro, Supportive Care Services at St. Joseph's Hospital for your compassion at our time of sorrow. Come celebrate Bettys' life at Turner & Porter, Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, on Monday, August the 8th. Visitation, same day Monday, August the 8th from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., funeral service in the chapel on Monday at 1 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the CNIB would be greatly appreciated.
