Obituary of Betty-Jane-Taylor Wilson

NORTHPORT Betty Jane Taylor Wilson, age 77, of Northport, died Oct. 16, 2008, at Northport Medical Center. Services will be 2:30 p.m. today at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Rock Stone and Rev. Paul Peeples officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her husband, Loy Wilson; her parents, Minnie and Albert Taylor; and her sister, Estelle Camp.Survivors include her only son, Michael Loy Wilson; her sister, Bertie Lou Jones (Wallace) of Northport; and her brother, Vergil Taylor of Ocala, Fla.Mrs. Wilson worked at Gulf States for many years before the plant closed. Family was important; her son, Michael, was her joy, as well as her church family at Patterson Chapel. She loved the Lord and her Church. In days past she enjoyed gardening and her flowers until her health failed. She was always a gentle lady with a sweet, soft-spoken voice and a big heart.Honorary pallbearers are members of Patterson Chapel, Terri Pater, and Linda Quilliams.
